Financial Advisor Websites: What to Include
AI Tapz Team · September 27, 2026
Choosing a financial advisor is a decision about trust. Prospective clients read carefully, compare several firms, and look for any sign that an advisor's interests aren't aligned with theirs. Your website should make that comparison easy — and stay on the right side of your regulator while doing it.
Explain how you're paid, clearly
Fees are the first thing many prospects look for. Say how you charge — fee-only, flat fee, percentage of assets, hourly — and what that covers. Being upfront about fees is one of the strongest trust signals an advisory site can send.
Introduce the advisors properly
Profiles with photos, qualifications, experience and the kinds of clients each advisor works with help prospects picture the relationship. Only list credentials and memberships you currently hold.
Describe services by life situation
Clients think in situations, not products: planning for retirement, managing an inheritance, running a business, supporting children through education. Organising services this way helps visitors recognise themselves — and helps you rank for the searches they actually make.
Check the compliance basics before you publish
- Include the regulatory disclosures and registration details your jurisdiction requires.
- Rules on testimonials, performance figures and promissory language differ by country and regulator — check with your compliance adviser before publishing any of them.
- Keep a record of what your website said and when; some regulators expect it.
This article isn't legal or compliance advice — treat it as a checklist to take to someone who can give that.
Keep the consultation form minimal
Ask for name, contact details and what they'd like help with. Never ask for account numbers, identification numbers or detailed financial information through a website form — collect that later through a secure process.
Offer something for people not ready to talk yet
Many prospects aren't ready for a meeting on their first visit. A newsletter signup or a small library of client resources keeps you in touch until they are.
A ready-made starting point
Our financial advisory website template is written for a fee-only firm, with five pages — Home, About, Services, FAQ and Contact — covering advisor profiles, transparent services and client resources. Its consultation-request form and newsletter signup store submissions in your own Postgres database, never on AI Tapz, and you can review and clear them from the "Manage live data" panel in your library.
