What a Veterinary Clinic Website Needs
AI Tapz Team · September 27, 2026
Pet owners arrive at a vet's website in one of two moods: planning something routine, or worried about an animal right now. A good clinic website serves both — calmly steering urgent cases to the phone, and making routine appointments easy to request.
Make emergencies impossible to miss
Put your phone number and what to do in an emergency at the top of every page — including where to go outside your opening hours. Say plainly that the online form is for non-urgent requests and isn't monitored around the clock. It's the most important safety detail on the whole site.
An appointment request form that sorts itself
Ask owners what the visit is for — wellness check, dental, surgery consultation, sick visit or a general question — along with the pet's name and species and their preferred times. Your front desk can then prioritise and call back with the right slot, instead of starting every conversation from scratch.
Services explained in owner language
Describe each service the way an owner would search for it: vaccinations, neutering, dental cleaning, senior pet care. Say which species you treat. If you can share typical price ranges or explain how estimates work, do — cost anxiety is one of the biggest reasons people delay a visit.
Introduce the team
A team page with photos, roles and qualifications of your vets and nurses turns a clinic into people an owner can trust with their animal. Mention special interests — exotics, orthopaedics, fear-free handling — where they're genuine.
Help new clients get ready
- What to bring to a first visit, such as previous vaccination records.
- Parking, accessibility and how to transport an anxious pet.
- Payment options and whether you work with pet insurance.
Handle owner data with care
Appointment requests include names, phone numbers and details about the animal's health. Store them somewhere you control, only ask for what you need to book the visit, and explain in your privacy policy how you use it.
A ready-made starting point
Our veterinary clinic website template has six pages — Home, About, Services, Our Team, FAQ and Contact — and an appointment-request form that already sorts requests into wellness, dental, surgery, sick visit or general question. Requests are stored in your own Postgres database, and you can review and clear them from the "Manage live data" panel in your library.
