Before you start

What you get

  • A designed book: a cover with your title and name, a title page with the copyright notice and your dedication, a contents page, every chapter on its own page, and a back cover with the blurb and a few lines about you.
  • Four designs: Classic (novels, stories, memoirs, biographies), Modern (non-fiction, business, science), Textbook (lessons with key ideas, exercises and answers) and Picture book (a picture and a few big lines on every page). The AI picks one from your book type, or you choose.
  • The book opens in your Library: click any text to change it, click a picture to put your own in its place, recolour the whole book from the Theme panel, or ask the AI to rewrite a page. Add more chapters by pasting your own text — they take the book's design — and move any page.
  • Save the whole book as one PDF, or download it as HTML pages (the ZIP holds every page and the whole book in one file).

Good to know

  • Pictures are simple flat vector illustrations the AI draws — friendly, not painted or photographic. Replace any of them with your own image in the Library.
  • For biographies, history and science the AI writes from what it knows and is told never to invent quotes or figures, but it can be wrong or out of date: check the facts before you publish.
  • The AI writes original books. It won't copy an existing book or its characters, and it won't write harmful content.

Pricing that protects your wallet

  • When the AI starts writing, the most your book can cost is held from your wallet: $3.00 for short chapters, $6.00 standard or $9.00 long. When it's done, only the AI work it actually used is charged — at least $2.00 — and the rest comes straight back. A run that fails costs nothing.
  • Planning the book costs nothing extra: if you go ahead, the AI work of the planning chat is part of your book's price, still never above what's held; if you don't, you pay nothing.

Your book stays yours

  • Your description is used only to write your book. Only your account can see it. The book you make is yours to publish, print or sell.
