AI measures it
Every line, area and symbol is measured, then the AI groups them into BOQ items from the legend, layers and notes.

What it measures
- Lengths (kerbs, pipes, fences, walls, road markings), areas (paving, asphalt, slabs, landscaping) and counts (manholes, lights, trees, doors — symbols in a DXF are counted exactly).
- Volumes when you give a thickness (e.g. "asphalt 50 mm") or the drawing prints one: area × thickness.
- Not measured: earthworks and anything needing levels or sections, reinforcement, and details only described in specifications. These are listed as exclusions.
Accuracy — read before tendering
- Every quantity is measured exactly from the drawing's geometry. What can be wrong is the meaning: which colour or layer is kerb, which is paving. The AI decides from the legend, layer names, notes and (for a PDF) the drawing itself — check its choices in the review.
- A DXF is the most reliable input: named layers and symbol blocks leave little to guess. A PDF only has colours and line weights.
- Hatch patterns are measured as areas, not their stroke lengths. Overlapping shapes on the same layer can be counted twice — the Groups sheet shows everything that was measured so you can spot it.
- Scale: for a PDF the AI reads the title block (and corrects "1:1000 on A1" printed on A3). Check one known length or area before relying on the totals.
- The result is a draft BOQ prepared by AI — a quantity surveyor should review it before it's used for tendering or contracts.
Scanned drawings
- A scan or photo has no lines to measure. Scanned sheets are skipped and never charged; if every sheet is scanned the run is rejected and the reserved amount comes straight back.
- DWG files: open them in your CAD program and Save As DXF (ASCII) first.
Pricing that protects your wallet
- $5.00 per sheet with a $5.00 minimum. A DXF counts as one sheet. Heavy files count one sheet per started 10 MB (a 25 MB DXF is 3 sheets).
- You see the maximum before you confirm. It's reserved from your wallet and you're never charged more; sheets that can't be measured and failed runs are returned automatically.
- Reviewing, editing items and rebuilding the Excel is free, as often as you like, for 30 days — no extra AI charge.
- One run is capped at 10 sheets ($50.00), and you can have two runs in progress at a time.
Your files
- Your drawing is processed in an isolated sandbox with no internet access and deleted as soon as the run finishes.
- The Excel file and the measurements behind it stay on this page for 30 days, then they're deleted. Only your account is shown them.
