Usage instructions

7 pages, each a complete, self-contained HTML page — a muted, quiet-luxury design for a boutique hotel or inn: a transparent header with a centred MH monogram crest and small-caps links split either side (it becomes a fog-white bar with a brass hairline as you scroll), slow full-bleed parallax photo heroes, very tall narrow photos with thin brass inset frames, Bodoni Moda headlines with italic accents over Mulish, a fog white, harbor navy, sea-glass, brass and linen palette, hairline brass rules, linen texture and compass-rose line art. 1. Home (index.html) — hero, check-availability bar, welcome with count-ups, horizontal room scroller, "a day at Marlow House" timeline, dining teaser with a menu card, four experiences, guest notes, weddings teaser with capacities. 2. Rooms & Suites (rooms.html) — five room types with numbered plates, specs (sleeps, beds, size, view, nightly-from price) and amenity chips; a horizontal photo gallery; in-every-room amenities; a comparison table. 3. Dining (dining.html) — breakfast included, a framed sample seasonal menu, the Chart Room bar and drinks, hours. 4. Experiences (experiences.html) — harbor sail, lighthouse walk, partner spa and local guides; seasonal tabs (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter); how booking works; the pool and roof deck. 5. Weddings & Gatherings (weddings.html) — small weddings, three ways to gather, a capacity table by space, planning steps, what's included, FAQ. 6. The Area (area.html) — getting here, an illustrated map with numbered labels and a matching distances list, parking and arrival. 7. Reservations (reservations.html) — the booking enquiry form, sample rates, house policies (check-in/out, cancellation, deposit, pets, children, accessibility) and an arrival FAQ. ANIMATION. Hero photos drift in slow parallax and framed photos wipe in, text fades in slowly, a brass rule draws itself under each heading, the compass roses draw their lines, numbers count up (they read the number you type), and the brass line of the "day at Marlow House" timeline fills as you scroll. Everything is visible without JavaScript, and visitors who ask for reduced motion see a still page. ROOM SCROLLERS. The home room scroller and the Rooms gallery are ordinary lists that scroll sideways with scroll-snap. The arrow buttons move one card at a time and switch off at either end; the track can also be focused and moved with the left and right arrow keys, swiped, or scrolled with a trackpad. Add, remove or reorder cards in the editor like any list. AVAILABILITY BAR. The bar under the home hero is a set of fields only — it does not check real availability. The chosen dates, guests and room are added to the "Check availability" link and pre-fill the Reservations form. To show live availability, replace the bar and the form with your booking engine's widget. SEASONAL TABS. On Experiences, each tab link switches the panel in the same position (first tab, first panel). Edit the panels in place; without JavaScript all four seasons show one after another. MAP. The area map is an illustration, not a real map: the drawing is inline SVG, and the place names are ordinary positioned text labels (each label's left/top percentages set its position). On phones the labels shrink to their numbers, which match the distances list beside the map. Replace it with your own illustration or an embedded map when you deploy. FONTS. Bodoni Moda (regular and italic) and Mulish load from Google Fonts via @font-face in each page's style block, with serif and sans-serif fallbacks. SEO. Each page opens with a labeled block (title, meta description, canonical link, Open Graph tags and JSON-LD). Every page carries Hotel markup with numberOfRooms, amenityFeature, checkinTime and checkoutTime, plus a WebPage, CollectionPage or ContactPage node. Copy it into your real <head> when you deploy, and update the domain, address, room count, amenities, check-in and check-out times, price range and rating. FORMS. The Reservations form is an enquiry only, not a confirmed booking, and it posts nowhere — connect it to your booking engine, channel manager or form service before publishing, or replace it with your booking engine's booking widget. The wedding "Email our events lead" button is a mailto link. EDITING. Change colours and fonts site-wide in the editor's Theme panel; edit the header or footer once and use "Apply to all pages"; sections can be moved, duplicated, hidden or deleted; use the Tablet and Mobile views for device-specific tweaks. CLAIMS & SAMPLE CONTENT. The inn's name, history, town, address, phone, emails, room counts, nightly rates, menu prices, experience and spa prices, wedding fees, capacities, travel times, statistics, the 4.9 rating and review count, and every guest note are fictional samples. Replace them with your own real details, rates and genuine reviews (or remove the guest notes and the aggregateRating in the JSON-LD) before publishing. Availability shown or implied anywhere is not real. Check your policies, pet rules, accessibility features and any Maine lodging tax wording against your own. IMAGES. All photography is real Unsplash stock of rooms, decks and pools, self-hosted under /content-images; no photo shows a person. Replace them with photos of your own property — guests expect to see the real rooms they are booking.
